Divers Search Lake Behind Missing Miramar Mother's Home

Search continues Wednesday for Vilet Torrez, who was last seen on March 30

Divers on Wednesday searched the lake behind the home of a missing Miramar woman who disappeared weeks ago.

Police have been searching for weeks for 38-year-old Vilet Torrez, who was last seen on March 30.

On Wednesday, two divers entered the water behind her home in the 12900 block of Southwest 28th Court.

The divers told NBC 6 their visibility wasn't good so they would be searching with their hands.

"I'm sad that we might find her, but I'm Glad they haven't given up on it. That they are continuing out there, that they're continuing to look for her," said Clarissa Garcia, her best friend.

Miramar Police previously combed the waterways in the area of Torrez’s home looking for clues into the missing woman’s whereabouts, sources told NBC 6.

The mother of three was reported missing by her estranged husband, Cid Torrez, who was also named a person of interest in the case.

Police said they suspect foul play in the disappearance.

No further information was released regarding her disappearance.
