A 79-year-old woman who went missing on Mother's Day has been found unharmed, the Broward Sheriff's Office said Monday evening.

Claudia Thomas was located in West Palm Beach by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office and will be reunited with her family, the BSO said.

The agency asked for the public's help in finding Thomas earlier in the day.

She had been celebrating the holiday at her daughter's house at 229 Southwest 2nd Court in Deerfield Beach when she went missing around 4:30 p.m.

Thomas' car, a silver 2003 Ford Taurus with license plate L208GA, was being kept at her daughter's house since she had been diagnosed with dementia. Thomas got into the car and drove away, the BSO said.

Thomas is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. Before she went missing, she was last seen wearing a lavender dress and slippers.
