    Miami-Dade Police are investigating after an elderly woman was found stabbed to death inside her home Friday evening.

    The body of Elsa Dominguez, 73, was discovered by her neighbor in her apartment in the 9400 block of Fontainebleau Boulevard around 5 p.m. Friday, police said.

    “They phoned the neighbor and asked her to check on the welfare of Ms. Dominguez," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Detective Javier Baez said. "And when she arrived at the residence, she unfortunately discovered her deceased from an apparent stab wound.”

    The motive for the killing is unknown, and Baez said police don't have much to go on at this point.

    Miami-Dade Police's Homicide Bureau is investigating the death and is asking anyone with information to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
