Year Behind Bars For Free Breast Exam Man

Broward Sheriff's Office

Phillip Winikoff

The elderly Coconut Creek man who prosecutors say posed as a doctor and offered free door-to-door breast exams will serve a year behind bars as part of a plea deal, it was reported Wednesday.

Phillip Winikoff, 81, was in court to enter a plea, which was postponed until Friday, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Winikoff is accused of offering the exams at a Lauderdale Lakes apartment complex in April 2006. Prosecutors said two women fell for the ruse and were assaulted before Winikoff was caught.

If tried and convicted, Winikoff could have been sentenced to more than 45 years for sexual battery and 10 years for practicing medicine without a license.
