Florida DUI Suspect Arrested Twice in 3 Days

Man faces two drunken-driving charges in separate incidents within days of each other

A southwest Florida man faces two drunken-driving charges in three day, the second following a crash with a deputy.

The Fort Myers News-Press reports that 29-year-old Elliot Thomas Gamble was arrested on his second DUI charge Monday.

The Lee County sheriff's office says the latest charge came after Gamble rammed into a patrol car. Gamble was arrested on charges of assault on an officer, DUI and criminal mischief.

A sheriff's report says deputies found near-empty bottles of gin and vodka in Gamble's vehicle.

A Lee County corporal says she was at a stop sign Monday when her rear bumper was struck by Gamble's vehicle. She says she exited her patrol car and the car was struck again.

Gamble also was charged with DUI Saturday.
