Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue workers performed a dramatic rescue of a man who was in danger of falling off the 17th Street Bridge Thursday.
Authorities received a call around 10:40 a.m. that the man was on a sloped ledge that was about 125 feet above the Intracoastal Waterway and in danger of falling off.
Firefighter Rolando Busto, a member of the Fire Department's Technical Rescue Team, rappelled down to the man and was able to hoist him up to an observation platform above.
Officials said the man had slipped and fallen onto the ledge from the observation deck.
It was the second technical rescue in the past month for Fort Lauderdale firefighters, after they performed a rescue of man who was inside a box truck that was left dangling off an I-95 overpass.
