Four people, including a community service officer, were hospitalized following a violent crash in Hollywood late Monday night.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. when a silver Nissan collided with the officer's car in the area of Taft Street and Park Road.

The three people inside the Nissan were seriously injured and were taken to a nearby hospital where they were in stable condition, officials said. The officer was also hospitalized but with minor injuries.

At least a couple of light poles were knocked over as a result of the crash and Florida Power and Light workers were called to the scene to repair the damaged poles.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
