The Miami Dolphins will be featured in the HBO reality series "Hard Knocks" this summer, and HBO released a teaser trailer on Thursday showing fans what to expect when the miniseries premieres next month.
With new head coach Joe Philbin taking the reins, the Dolphins hope to reverse course after missing the NFL playoffs in 9 of the past 10 seasons, HBO will profile Philbin's first preseason camp with the Dolphins.
Beyond the obligatory shots of South Beach, Ocean Drive, and the Miami River, most of the action will take place at the team's headquarters and training facilities in Davie.
Though the Dolphins have plenty of charismatic and outspoken players, like Chad Ochocinco, Karlos Dansby, and Reggie Bush, the team's trio of quarterbacks will likely be a major focus of the series.
In 2011, backup Matt Moore established himself as the incumbent after Chad Henne (since departed to Jacksonville via free agency) was lost for the season to injury. But the Dolphins signed free agent David Garrard to compete for the starting job, and used the eighth pick in the NFL Draft on Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who could also challenge Moore in camp.
However, in past seasons lesser known players have stolen the spotlight, sometimes for dubious reasons. In 2010, New York Jets cornerback Antonio Cromartie became a viral sensation when he tried unsuccessfully to name all 9 of his children.
