Hatchet-Wielding Marathon Man Arrested For Cutting Neighbor: Cops

Maykel Borges swung the hatchet at a man and cut him, authorities said.

A Marathon man was arrested for attacking another man with a hatchet after he was told that he couldn't have any more beer, authorities said Sunday.

Maykel Borges, 32, kept going to Trailerama Trailer Park on Friday, wanting beers, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said. People at the trailer park gave him several beers but at the end, they told him to leave them alone, authorities said.

He left and came back with a hatchet, the sheriff's office said.

Borges started arguing with people and swung the hatchet at a man and cut him, authorities said. He then allegedly dropped the weapon and left.

Authorities said they found Borges at his own trailer, and he was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for the small cut on his side.

It wasn't immediately known if Borges had an attorney.
