Near NW 27th Avenue, the driver crashed into the rear of the box truck and maneuvered away towards the on ramp and drove against traffic. “Somebody was trying to run away, and then they shot him,” said Salem, who owns Huslerz Wheelz. “It’s crazy Miami, and things, it’s getting out of hand.”

No officers were injured in the episode, which began around lunchtime with reports of a strange person seen around a Kendall home, said police, who responded there.

"He fled from the area, he utilized his vehicle to strike the detective's vehicle, and at that point is where the pursuit ensued," Miami-Dade Police spokesman Det. Alvaro Zabaleta said.

Police said they found guns inside the vehicle, but they did not yet know if the vehicle was stolen.
