Marcos Mendoza, 24, was taken into custody after police say he sexually assaulted a male victim in a Little Havana apartment. NBC 6's Claudia DoCampo has the story.
A man was taken into custody early Saturday morning after officials said he broke into a Little Havana apartment and sexually assaulted a male victim inside.
Marcos Mendoza, 24, forced his way into an apartment on the 1100 block of Southwest 7th Street at about 2:30 a.m., Miami Police said.
Mendoza was completely naked when he was apprehended, and officials had to wrap him in a blanket before taking him to jail.
"Buddy was naked and they put him in the car," witness David Ferrer said. "He tried to fight back and they just resisted him and they did their job."
Mendoza could also be seen singing as police tried to get him into the patrol car.
Neighbors said the street is usually very busy, whether it is day or night. Yet, some say crime has gone up recently.
"You have to be careful because delinquency is at a level police can't even handle," neighbor Edwin Martinez said.
Jail records show Mendoza was charged with sexual battery with no serious personal injury and burglary with assault or battery. He is being held without bond and has a hold for immigration.
