Man Arrested for Kidnapping and Attempting to Sexually Abuse Woman: Police

Sayyid Khan, 20, kidnapped a woman at gunpoint and forced her into a vehicle, authorities said.

A man accused of kidnapping and attempting to sexually abuse a woman is being held on no bond after his appearance in a Broward court Wednesday, authorities said.

Sayyid Khan, 20, told police on Tuesday that he planned to kidnap and rape a stranger, a Pembroke Pines Police arrest report said.

“He woke up that morning with the intent of raping someone, and he was going to follow through with that fantasy,” Pembroke Pines Police Capt. Al Xiques said.

He got a large knife, replica handgun, duct tape, gloves and dressed in dark clothes, and found a woman driving on Pines Boulevard, the report said.

Khan followed the woman to her house and tailgated into the gated community. He watched the woman get out of her car, approched her at gunpoint and forced her into a vehicle, authorities said.

The woman’s brother heard her screaming for help and called police, who sent out an advisory for the car.

Khan took the woman to Davie, where he ordered her to get into the back seat of the car. He cut pieces of tape, ordered the woman to place the tape over her eyes and attempted to sexually assault her, the report said.

The woman opened the rear passenger door and ripped off the tape, but Khan hit the woman with the handgun, the report said.

The woman punched him in the groin and she was able to take the gun. She tried shooting but the gun did not fire, the report said.

Khan fled the scene and hid in a nearby landscaping, but the woman, who was still in possession of her cellphone, called 911.

Surveillance video that showed the kidnapping was recovered from the Pembroke Pines apartment complex, police said.

Khan is being held without bond at the Broward County Jail on numerous charges, including kidnapping and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, online Broward Sheriff's Office jail records said. It wasn’t immediately known if he had an attorney.
