    A man who escaped from police custody was caught after a brief search Monday morning, officials said.

    A man who escaped from police custody was caught after a brief search Monday morning, officials said.

    Miami Police said the man, who was handcuffed, escaped in the area of Northwest 22nd Avenue and 5th Street.

    He was caught in the area of Northwest 23rd Avenue near W. Flagler Street about a half-hour later, police said.

    Police said the man was wanted for assaulting a police officer.

    No other information was immediately known.
