Man Caught With Girlfriend Gets Ice Cream Beating From Wife

Woman who found husband with girlfriend smacks him with bag of ice cream

A Port St. Lucie woman was arrested after authorities say she beat her husband with a bag of ice cream when she found him in a store with his girlfriend.

Dawn Elaine Barran, 45, is facing a domestic battery charge after she gave her husband an ice-cold smackdown, according to a Port St. Lucie Police arrest affidavit obtained by TCPalm.com.

According to the affidavit, Barran ran into her husband and his "current girlfriend" inside the Walgreens in the 2900 block of Southwest Port St. Lucie Boulevard late Sunday night.

When Barran began arguing with her husband over his girlfriend at the cash register, she grabbed the bag of ice cream he had just bought and hit him over the head with it, the affidavit said.

The husband and girlfriend tried to leave, but Barran wasn't done. She chased after him, pulling on his shirt and ripping it, the affidavit said. She also punched him and hit him with her car keys, causing scratches on his hand and chest, the affidavit said.

Barran kept punching and hitting him as he tried to leave, the affidavit said. She was later arrested at her home and taken to jail without incident, the affidavit said. It was unknown whether she has an attorney.
