A South Florida man who said he was Satan stabbed another man and held a group of people at knife-point inside a Hollywood home has been arrested, police said.

Michael Anthony Thomas, 30, from Hallandale, was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, property damage, carrying a concealed weapon, and kidnapping or false imprisonment of an adult, according to a Hollywood Police arrest affidavit.

According to the affidavit, Thomas knocked on the door of the home in the 2100 block of Taylor Street Sunday morning where he was let in by one of the victims, Alex Johnson.

Once inside, Thomas grabbed an 8-inch butcher knife and "demanded his stuff," according to the affidavit. Thomas then started stabbing the walls and waving the knife at Jenkins, Johnson and Shatara Ferguson, the affidavit said.

"Johnson stated the defendant began making comments that he is Satan and did not care about killing anyone," the affidavit said.

At one point he stabbed Jenkins in the left thing, leaving him with a 1-inch puncture wound, according to the affidavit.

Thomas said no one could leave until he got his stuff and slapped a phone from Ferguson's hand when she tried to call police, the affidavit said. He grabbed a phone from another victim, Theodore Frye, and threw it to the ground.

At one point, he also grabbed and pulled a pregnant woman, identified as Shawntraiviea Mangham, the affidavit said.

When officers arrived, they found Thomas walking nearby on Taylor Street, trying to conceal the knife against his body. He dropped the knife and was taken into custody.

As officers drove Thomas to be booked, he became "hostile and combative" and started slamming his head into the car's partition, causing lacerations to his forehead, the affidavit said. He kicked the doors and was pepper sprayed but continued to struggle and was able to free a leg from a restraint.

When Thomas started kicked at the officers, he was Tasered, the affidavit said. He was taken to a nearby hospital but threatened to kill the officers.

Jenkins was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment for his injury.

Records showed Thomas was being held on $60,500 bail Tuesday. It was unknown whether he has an attorney.
