A man drove his car through a fence and into a canal behind a Lauderdale Lakes high school Friday morning, officials said.

Dispatchers received reports of a man driving into the canal at 4101 NW 30th Terrace at 8:44 a.m., according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The man jumped out of the car and let it coast into the water behind Boyd Anderson High School before fleeing on foot, deputies said.

There were no injuries reported, and officials are looking for the man as divers search for the car.

Authorities said they believe the incident is related to a shooting Friday morning in Hollywood.
