A man was hospitalized after firefighters pulled him out of a burning home in Southwest Miami-Dade Thursday night, officials said.

Firefighters responded to the home in the 8000 block of Southwest 36th Terrace around 8 p.m. and saw heavy smoke and flames shooting out the front door, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Lt. Rafael Fernandez said.

The unidentified victim was found near the home's front door with multiple burns on his body, Fernandez said. He was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center where his condition is unknown.

Fernandez said it took about two hours to get the blaze under control.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
