Man Sexually Assaulted Woman After Offering Her Job at Bus Stop: Miami-Dade Police

Cops searching for man who offered woman job then sexually assaulted her at hotel

Miami-Dade Police are looking for a man who they say offered a woman a job at a bus stop then sexually assaulted her in a hotel room.

The 20-year-old woman was waiting for a bus at the stop at Southwest 137th Avenue and Southwest 26th Street back on Aug. 1 when she was approached by the man, who offered her employment, Miami-Dade Police said Thursday.

He then drove the woman to La Fuente Hotel in the area of Southwest 8th Street and Southwest 74th Avenue where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a white Hispanic male in his mid 30s, with short brown hair, about 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, 160 pounds, a medium build and clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a green polo shirt and blue jeans and was driving a dark colored minivan, police said.

"We do not recommend that anyone get in a car of anyone that approaches them and they do not know who this person is," police spokeswoman Det. Robin Pinkard said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
