Man Stripped Naked and Shot During Armed Robbery in Miami

Man injured in armed robbery gone wrong in Miami

Police are investigating after a man was stripped naked and shot during an armed robbery in Miami early Tuesday.

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. in the area of Northeast 31st Street and Biscayne Boulevard.

Witnesses said a woman and her boyfriend were approached by two men, who demanded money and ordered them to take their clothes off.

At one point, the man was shot in the stomach and the woman ran to a nearby parking lot to get help after the suspects fled the scene.

"This lady came hysterical,  she's yelling that her boyfriend got shot, her boyfriend got shot," witness Sean Freeman said.

Freeman said he ran over to help the victim.

"We saw the guy, he was slumped over, there was blood everywhere," said Freeman, who said he found the man naked lying in the street about 25 minutes after hearing gunshots. "It was really hard to stay there because there was so much blood."

Freeman said he stayed with the couple until an ambulance arrived. The man was taken to Ryder Trauma Center. The victim underwent abdominal surgery, and afterward he was unable to breathe on his own, but he will make it, said a close friend who only gave his first name of Mike.

Police were at the scene early Tuesday but said the victim isn't cooperating with detectives.
