A man wanted in the gruesome stabbing of a Miami family that left a mother and son dead and two other injured has been arrested, police said Wednesday.

Joseph Teman Swift, 29, was arrested Tuesday and booked into jail early Wednesday morning, records showed.

The records showed Swift was charged with two counts of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon two counts of attempted murder, escape and resisting an officer with violence.

He was being held without bond and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.

Swift was a wanted man and had been considered armed and dangerous after the stabbing that happened Sunday night at a home in the area of Northwest 131st Street and 21st Avenue, police said.

Police said Jenetha Jones, 58, and her son, Wade Jones, 23, were stabbed multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene.

Jones' daughters, Natasha, 30, and Taree, 25, were also stabbed multiple times and were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

According to an arrest affidavit, Swift, who is Natasha Jones' ex-boyfriend, entered the home and began stabbing the family members with an unknown large knife.

Swift "chased victims throughout the residence breaking doors where the victims attempted to hide in bedrooms and he continued chasing them and cornering them while repeatedly stabbing them," the affidavit said.

Wade Jones was stabbed to death inside the house, while Jenetha Jones escaped the residence but died across the street trying to get help from a neighbor, the affidavit said.

Natasha Jones was stabbed until she was incapacitated and Taree Jones was also stabbed but was able to flee to a neighbor's home, the affidavit said.

Swift was arrested in the 300 block of Northeast 191st Street Tuesday morning.

According to the affidavit, while at the police station Swift asked to use the bathroom and tried to jump out a window to escape. He also attacked an officer, the affidavit said.
