A man is dead after he was struck by a car and dragged for about a block in Miami Beach, police said.

The victim's body was found by a passerby at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday in the middle of 5th Street, according to Miami Beach Police.

There were no witnesses to the incident and there was no trace of a suspect vehicle, officials said.

Traffic homicide detectives said the victim was most likely dragged for about a block between Michigan and Lennox Avenues. Police said he was homeless and middle-aged, but did not identify him Saturday afternoon.

A suspect has not been located.

Anyone who may have been in the area or witnessed the crash is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
