A Miami-Dade Police officer and her husband were arrested after they were caught filling their personal cars with gas from a county fuel facility, police said.
Rose Stabio, 41, and husband Giomar Pincon, 31, were arrested Tuesday and charged with third-degree grand theft and organized scheme to defraud, Miami-Dade Police said. It was unknown whether they have attorneys.
Police said Stabio, a patrol officer, and Pincon, a security guard and former police officer in Sweetwater, used a county gas card Stabio was supposed to use to fill up her patrol car at the fuel facility, the Miami Herald reported.
The pair used the card over a period of several months and filled up with hundreds of dollars worth of gas. They were also caught on hidden surveillance video, the Herald reported.
