More Evidence Released in Barahona Case

Nubia's adoptive parents Jorge and Carmen Barahona have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges

The state attorney's office on Thursday released hundreds of pages of evidence in the death of  Nubia Barahona, including testimony from emergency workers who responded to the scene in February.

Nubia's body was found doused in chemicals in the back of a truck along Interstate-95 near West Palm Beach.

Nubia's adoptive parents Jorge and Carmen Barahona are accused of beating her to death. They have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder charges.

Several emergency workers describe seeing Jorge Barahona, overcome by the fumes, lying outside of the truck that day.

They also describe the condition of Nubia's twin brother who was found alive inside the truck.

A firefighter said Victor was: "Very fidgety and his hands, I just remember him moving his hands, like all weird .... Like around his body and his eyes were constantly like looking all around. He looked scared to death."

The documents also include testimony from the father of the Barahona's granddaughter.  The little girl told her father about what she saw inside the Barahona's home, including Victor and Nubia tied up inside the bathtub. She also said both children were put into the trash can outside during the day.

The little girl also told her father that her mother and grandmother told her to keep it all a secret.
