One of Brevard's Most Wanted Captured in Sunrise

Man charged in murder in Brevard arrested at house in Sunrise

One of Brevard County's most wanted fugitives suspected in the murder of a man in Palm Bay was arrested in Sunrise Thursday, authorities said.

Jason Demetrious Williams, 30, was taken into custody by members of the U.S> Marshals Florida Regional Task Force after he was tracked down to his girlfriend's house, Marshals spokesman Barry Golden said.

Marshals had set up surveillance on the house in the 8000 block of Northwest 28th Place, and confirmed he was in the home after they pulled over a family member who'd left the house.

When they approached the home to arrest Williams, he tried to jump out a window but was apprehended with the help of a Sunrise officer and his K-9 partner, Golden said.

Williams had been charged with murder and grand theft auto in Palm Bay after police say he attacked and killed 50-year-old Wayne McIntosh on Oct. 15. He fled the scene in McIntosh's grey Cadillac SRX, but authorities got a tip he'd gone to his girlfriend's, police said.

Golden said Williams is a graduate of Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale and has a tattoo that says "Dillard Boy $$$" and another that says "Laugh Now, Cry Later."

Williams has been convicted and served time in Florida for charges of battery and grand theft and has been convicted on drug charges six times, Golden said.

He was sitting in a Broward County jail late Thursday, waiting to be extradited back to Palm Bay to face charges, Golden said.
