One person was killed and another was in custody after three suspects started shooting at each other Thursday, Opa-locka Police said.
The third suspect was hospitalized at Ryder Trauma Center following the incident that happened in the area of Northwest 139th Street and Northwest 22nd Avenue, police said.
Police said an officer also suffered minor injuries to his foot when he ran after one of the suspects.
The incident caused two nearby schools, Nathan Young Elementary and Theodore and Thelma Gibson Charter, to be put on lockdown as a precaution, Miami-Dade School Board officials said.
Police haven't said what led to the shooting and none of the suspects have been identified.
