Person Struck By Tri-Rail Train in Boca Raton

Major delays expected for Thursday morning rush hour

A person was killed when they were struck by a Tri-Rail train in Palm Beach County Thursday morning, officials said.

The person was struck by a southbound train around 6 a.m. about a mile and a half south of the Boca Raton station, South Florida Regional Transportation Authority spokeswoman Bonnie Arnold said.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office was on the scene investigating. The victim wasn't identified.

Arnold said they're anticipating major delays in service during rush hour.

Tri-Rail is setting up a bus service to take people from the Boca Raton station to the Deerfield Beach station but Arnold said they're advising people to seek an alternate means of transportation.
