Passengers on a flight from Montreal to Fort Lauderdale didn't quite make it to the terminal Thursday after their plane blew out a front tire and got stuck on the runway, officials said.

The CanJet Airlines 737 with 188 people on board landed safely at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport around 1 p.m. when the tire blew as it was taxiing, Broward Sheriff's Office spokesman Jim Leljedal said.

The plane couldn't be moved without damaging the landing gear, so it stayed on the runway for repairs while passengers were taken to the terminal by bus, Leljedal said.

No one was injured.
