Police Search For Gunmen Who Shot Four in Miami Gardens Park

Three adults, young boy hid by bullets after gunmen open fire in park

Police are searching for two or three suspects who they say opened fire in a Miami Gardens Park Wednesday night, wounding four people including an 11-year-old boy.

Detectives say some 200 people were at Bunche Park at 2200 West Bunche Park Drive when the gunmen drove up in a dark, newer model Chevrolet Impala, got out and opened fire.

Three men, ages 19, 23 and 24, were shot while they were playing basketball on courts in the Northwest part of the park. The 11-year-old was hit by gunfire as he was attending football practice nearby, police said.

All four were rushed to Ryder Trauma Center, where they're in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries Thursday, police said.

Police are looking for the suspects and are asking for the public's help in finding them. Officials will meet with residents at the park at 5:30 p.m. Thursday to discuss the shootings.

Anyone with info is asked to call the Miami Gardens Police Department at 305-474-6473.
