Port of Miami Tunnel Boring Machine Launch Event Cancelled

The $216 million project is directed to improve traffic flow in downtown Miami

The Port of Miami Tunnel Boring Machine Launch event for Friday has been cancelled.

“Its been postponed due to an extension of 30 days for The Village of Key Biscayne to decide whether they are going to challenge the permit,” said Brian Rick, from the Florida Department of Transportation.

The $216 million project is directed to improve traffic flow in downtown Miami by connecting MacArthur Causeway to Dodge Island. It would provide access between the seaport and highways I-395 and I-95, and create another entry to the Port of Miami.

The Village of Key Biscayne could not be reached for comment.
