The U.S. Small Business Administration has issued a disaster declaration for Broward County.

Low-interest loans are available at a temporary outreach center in Sunrise.

"We don't help in the way Red Cross and FEMA may help," said SBA representative Charles Delane. "We try to pick up to gap between what an individual may get from an insurance company and what they need to become whole again."

Victims like Anna Ortega are eager to apply.

"I don't have no family in Florida can go to living or anything like that so this is my house," said Ortega.

She says her insurance policy doesn't cover disaster losses, and she's facing $70,000 in damages.

Applicants can apply for loans to cover up to $200,000 in uninsured property damage and $40,000 dollars in personal household losses.

The Disaster Loan Outreach Center provides information and assistance at 777 Sawgrass Corporate Parkway in Sunrise. It will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m. through Nov. 10.

The deadline to file loan applications for physical damage is Dec. 27.
