Coral Springs SWAT Incident Ends With Surrender

A SWAT situation involving Coral Springs Police ended Saturday after a 26-year-old man who threatened to commit suicide surrendered to authorities.The man was located on a park bench, where he held a gun to his head for several hours. Lt. Joe McHugh said negotiators, along with the man's parents, were on scene to resolve the incident.

A SWAT situation has ended with one suspect taken into custody in Hallandale Beach, police said.

A SWAT team was called to a home in the area of Southwest 9th Street near 2nd Avenue after a domestic dispute between two brothers turned into a police standoff Tuesday, police said.

The incident began around noon, Hallandale Beach Police officials said. During the argument, one of the brothers armed himself with a firearm, and when police responded, he had barricaded himself inside his house, officials added.

Footage from the scene showed officers surrounding the home with weapons drawn.
