A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for five South Florida counties until 11 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The watch includes Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Hendry, Collier and Glades counties.
Earlier, a severe thunderstorm warning that was issued for Miami-Dade and Broward counties was in effect for about half an hour until it ended at 5:15 p.m.
A significant weather advisory was also issued for northeastern Miami-Dade County until 5 p.m. for frequent to excessive lightning, gusty winds and up to nickel-sized hail.
