Smoke From Brush Fire Closes Portion of I-75 Near Naples

Portion of I-75 in Collier County closed due to reduced visibility

Traffic is moving across Alligator Alley again after the highway was closed for several hours due to poor visibility.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the portion of the highway, also known as Interstate 75, reopened after 10 a.m. Monday. It was closed earlier because of fog and smoke from a brush fire at the Big Cypress National Preserve.

Officials also say all lanes of State Road 29 between U.S. 41 and Oil Well Road have reopened in Collier County.
