A Sweetwater Police officer was hospitalized after his police cruiser collided with a school bus in southwest Miami-Dade early Thursday.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. in the area of Southwest 112th Avenue and 152nd Street, as the bus was making a left turn into a McDonald's, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.
The police cruiser struck the back end of the bus, which had no children inside, the FHP said.
The officer was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
Two eastbound lanes of 152nd Street were closed because of the crash, the FHP said.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
