The two teens arrested in the death of a man at a Hallandale Beach auto parts store will remain in juvenile detention, a judge ruled Thursday.
The suspects, ages 14 and 17, will stay locked up until their next hearing on Jan. 10, when prosecutors will determine whether to charge them as adults.
"We will make a filing decision regarding what charges should be filed and whether they should be filed in juvenile or adult court,β prosecutor Maria Schneider said.
The slaying victim was identified as 32-year-old Gregory Hyppolite.
Hallandale Beach Police say the teens were seen attacking the man on the ground outside Advanced Auto Parts at 117 N. Federal Highway around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the teenagers, who are cousins, admitted that they attacked the man and said the fight was about money. One of the teens may have used a pen in the attack, police said.
