The Miami Heat Offer Fans a Thanksgiving Treat

The Heat along with other sponsors are making this Thanksgiving a special memory for some residents

The Miami Heat will host the 20th Annual Heat Thanksgiving Celebration on Monday in downtown Miami.

The Heat's Pat Riley, Alonzo Mourning, and Erik Spolestra are among the many who are bringing their best game forward to celebrate with about 600 underprivileged families from the area. The majority of these families were pre-selected by different government and community-based organizations for the special Thanksgiving treat.

"They'll be receiving things like a frozen turkey , side items, and Pepsi products from our sponsors," said Casey Angel from the Miami Rescue Mission.

The Miami Rescue Mission and the Heat will also be providing 300 meals for the homeless and participants of their "No One is Homeless" campaign where they plan on distributing about 230,000 meals this Fall to the needy.

Burnie the Heat mascot will also be at the block party, along with DJ Irie and the Heat dancers.

Guests  will be treated to games and activities and a visit by the team's vintage 1952 fire truck.
