Three people were hospitalized for injuries from a fire that destroyed a family's home in southwest Miami-Dade County on Sunday night, authorities said.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said they heard explosions coming from the home at 6490 SW 25th Street as they approached it on their rigs. The fire gutted the house as firefighters pulled the three people from it.

A man was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center with severe burns, and two other people, a mother and her son, suffered smoke inhalation burns and were transported to nearby hospitals.

Investigators are trying to find the cause of the fire.
