UCF Professors to Be Honored as Inventor Fellows

Three University of Central Florida professors are being recognized by the National Academy of Inventors for their work in photonics and nanotechnology.
 
Professors Michael Bass, Peter H. Delfyett and Sudipta Seal are being honored as NAI Fellows for 2013 for their innovation and its impact on economic development and society.
 
They will all be honored during the third NAI conference Mar. 7 in Alexandria, Va.
 
Election to NAI Fellow status is a high professional distinction accorded to academic inventors. The 143 innovators elected to NAI Fellow status this year represent 94 universities, governmental and nonprofit research institutes.  Together, they hold more than 5,600 U.S. patents.
 
The three UCF professors have a combined 104 patents between them.
