Video in Alleged Hollywood Gang Rape Played in Court

A video that shows part of the alleged beating and gang rape of a teenage girl in Hollywood was played during a hearing in a Broward courtroom Thursday, Dec. 19 regarding bond for one of the suspects.

The video was played during the hearing for 18-year-old Lanel Singleton, one of five teens charged in the alleged attack on the 16-year-old girl on Nov. 1. The footage shows the victim getting dragged by her hair across the floor the night of the alleged incident.

Prosecutors say 19-year-old Jayvon Woolfork raped the girl while the other four teens held her down inside his house on the 1600 block of McKinley Street. The victim told police she was kicked, had her hair pulled, was thrown down the stairs and even had her face smashed on the concrete. She broke bones by both of her eyes and stayed in the hospital for several days.

Police said Singleton admitted to recording the incident.

"He told me that he recorded the incident, he said that he observed the girls striking the victim several times and he did say that she can't leave unless she had sex with Jay," Officer Brian Roussell testified.

In addition to the charges against Woolfork and Singleton, Patricia Montes, 15, Erica Avery, 16, and Dwight Henry, 17, were each charged with two counts of sexual battery with use of force likely to cause serious personal injury and two counts of kidnapping in the case.
