Wade and LeBron Trade Insults on Twitter

And the national media will read too far into the friendly exchange in 3...2...

Dwyane Wade started it, at least in public.

But if if the NBA lockout continues, we know where it will end: a buddy comedy tour at a buffet near you.

Wade and his Miami Heat teammate LeBron James -- perhaps you've heard of him? -- entertained Twitter followers Tuesday night with a give-and-go of corny jokes and personal insults.

"What do men's platform shoes and @KingJames' [hairline] have in common?" Wade tweeted first. "They're both gone and ain't NEVER coming back."

After that, it was all a roast:

@KingJames: What do Cesar from Planet of the Apes and @DwyaneWade have in common? Tell D-Wade to take his socks off and you'll see.

@DwyaneWade: What does Dirk [Nowitski's] jumpshot and @KingJames's [hairline] have in common? They both have hella ARC in the corners.

@DwyaneWade Y'all couldn't think I was done. What do Morgan Freeman and @KingJames have in common? They both been OLD since we've known of 'em.

@KingJames What do Ronald McDonald and @DwyaneWade have in common? They're both 6'2" and wear size 20 shoes!

And with that last missive, we're willing to award the crown to LeBron. But lest anyone think the two are serious -- we're looking at you, overwrought Heat-hating national media -- Wade made a point to say it was all in good fun.

"Just gave y'all a little insight of @KingJames' and my relationship," he wrote. "It's not that serious, people. We like to enjoy life and have fun. We're in on the jokes."

(Somewhere, we imagine, LeBron's hairline begs to differ.)
