Wade to Play Against Celtics

Miami Heat get D-Wade back in time for a chance to make up for April Fools Day blowout in Boston

Dwyane Wade said Monday he will suit up for the Miami Heat when they host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. After sitting out the Heat's win against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, Wade said his sore right ankle is well enough for him to return to action.

"I'm all right," Wade said to the Sun Sentinel. "I feel better."

He would not elaborate any further when asked for details about his ankle. "I don't want to talk about injuries," he said. ""I'm playing and that's all I'm really concerned about."

He hurt his right ankle on Friday when the Heat lost to the Memphis Grizzlies. He also sat out a game against the Philadelphia 76ers last week to rest a sore knee.

Reserves Terrell Harris and James Jones saw extra playing time in Wade's absence Sunday, with Jones scoring 18 points, all of which came on three-pointers. Shane Battier started in Wade's place, scoring only 4 points in 30 minutes but adding 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

"Our depth this year, we added Shane, certainly helped," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said Monday. "We had to survive those minor injuries. That was part of the point."

The Heat haven't exactly suffered without Wade this season, going 10-1 in games he has sat out. But they will need Wade if they want to avenge a 91-72 loss in Boston on April 1st.

"It just [ticked] us off, really," Chris Bosh told the Miami Herald Monday."We don't like getting beat like that."

"We've made some adjustments to our own game, and sometimes you need that," Wade added. "We're just going to come out this time and obviously play better but play our game."

The Heat and Celtics tip off at 7p.m. on ESPN.
