Another stormy afternoon is in store for Sunday in South Florida as the local weather pattern remains unsettled.

Early sunshine will give way to numerous showers and thunderstorms through the late afternoon hours.

Some locally heavy downpours with frequent lightning are possible all day long.

Highs will reach 88 degrees with lows at 78 Sunday night.

Sunshine should move back into the forecast beginning Monday as a drier trend kicks in through the middle of the week. Conditions will be partly sunny with just a few isolated thunder storms.

Expect early showers with afternoon sunshine on Tuesday.

Highs will be at about 90 degrees for the beginning of the work week.
