Weather Forecast -- Aug. 22 -- 5:30 a.m.

Thursday will be sunny, with some early showers in store. Highs will be at 89 degrees. NBC 6 meteorologist Ryan Phillips has the forecast.

Thursday morning will see some early showers, but conditions will begin drying out for the weekend.

Highs will be at 89 with a 30 percent chance of rain Thursday. Rain chances will end by midday and partly sunny skies will hang around for the afternoon.

Risk of rip currents remains high due to a moderate easterly breeze.

Rain chances will fizzle out by Friday, with only a 20 percent chance of showers and partly sunny skies through Saturday. Highs will remain at about 90 degrees.

Scattered storms will return on Sunday and remain into the work week. The chance of rain will be at 40 percent through Tuesday.

There are no developments in the tropics to track at the moment.
