A driver was nearly killed when a 15-foot long piece of wood came flying through his windshield on I-95 in Deerfield Beach Thursday, authorities said.
The 38-year-old man was driving southbound just south of 10th Avenue when the 2x6 pierced his front windshield, narrowly missing him, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesman Mike Jachles said.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the truck where the wood came from stayed at the scene and could be cited pending the investigation, Jachles said.
