The Dengue Fever report in Miami-Dade was not a case of the rare disease after all, Health Department officials said Friday.

On Thursday, officials held a press conference reporting the disease had made its way north from the Florida Keys, where dozens of people reportedly were infected by the virus.

The news had people running out and buying mosquito nets and bug spray by the case load, not that it's a bad idea to have them on hand. From a health standpoint, it's still probably not a good idea to have a mosquito sucking your blood.

There have also been reports of Dengue in Central Florida.

The Health Department will hold a press conference on their premature Dengue fever announcement at 3:30 p.m.
