13-Year-Old Girl Escapes Abduction Through Car Window

Two men drag teen waiting for school bus into car but she jumps out window

A 13-year-old girl was able to get out of a terrifying situation Thursday morning after two men attempted to abduct her in Southwest Miami-Dade.

The teen was waiting for her school bus early this morning at Southwest 268 St. and Southwest 139 Ave. when a black car pulled up next to her.

According to police, the car was occupied by two black males. The man in the passenger seat stepped out and pulled the girl by her hoodie, forcing her inside the car.

When the car came to a stop just a couple blocks away, at the intersection of Southwest 268 St. and Southwest 137 Ave., the girl jumped out of the car through the window.

She then bolted to her home, located just blocks away.

"I raised a fighter," said Lavernne Jordan, the girl's mother. "My baby saved her own life today."

Police said the girl suffered a minor injury to her knee during the escape. Officers are still investigating the incident. Jordan says the men may have been trying to abduct her daughter to force her into prostitution.

"She said their words were, 'We got one,'" Jordan said.

After the incident, neighbors said they want more police patrols in the area and that the number of kids living in the area make it a target for abductions.

"I don't know who these two negros is, but I am going to find them," said Jordan, a minister. "I have a set of skills and I'm going to use them."
