A Rooster Reprieve for Mr. Clucky?

As if there aren't stranger things tolerated on South Beach

The celebrity rooster seen riding on his owner's bicycle in Miami Beach may not get evicted - that's if the city makes a special exception.

Miami Beach code prohibits keeping livestock in residential areas. Mr. Clucky's owner, Mark Buckley, is asking for the city commission to grant an exception.

In July, Buckley was fined $50 a day and told to remove Mr. Clucky and his hen girlfriend, Wallflower, from their condo after a neighbor complained about the crowing.

Buckley met with city officials this week to ask for a resolution to allow the rooster to stay. Mayor Matti Herrera Bower said she would ask the city manager to grant Buckley an exemption.
