Burning Love: 2nd Florida Woman Sets Boyfriend's Crotch Ablaze

For the second time in less than a month, a Florida woman has been arrested for allegedly setting her boyfriend's crotch on fire.

Victoria Eltonya Bynes, 29, was arrested Saturday on aggravated battery charges for the attack at a home in Citra, near Gainesville, according to ocala.com.

Bynes had gone looking for boyfriend Andrew Williams, 42, even going to his mother's house.

"Your son has some explaining to do," Bynes allegedly told the boyfriend's mother.

When Bynes finally tracked Williams down at a friend's house, a fight broke out. Bynes later told police that while they were arguing, she picked up a plastic bottle containing gasoline and was shaking it in one hand and flicking her lighter in the other hand.

She told police that when the two began struggling over the bottle, Williams must have gotten sprayed. That's when Bynes dropped the lighter onto his lap.

Deputies found Williams kneeling in the yard, covered by a blanket and reeking of gasoline. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, including second- and third-degree burns to his genital area and torso.

The home's yard was also burned and singed clothing was found in the same area.

Bynes left the scene and was later arrested at her home. She allegedly told deputies that she saw Williams catch on fire but saw him stop drop and roll and said he looked fine as she drove away.

Bynes was arrested and was released Sunday on $10,000 bond.

The incident comes less than a month after a Fort Lauderdale woman allegedly set her boyfriend's crotch on fire as he was sleeping.

Berlinda Dixon-Newbold was arrested Dec. 14 on aggravated assault charges after a heated argument with boyfriend Sheldon Gonzales, who was able to minimize the damage by putting the blaze out with his hands.
