C-Blocking! No More Conjugal Visits for Miami-Dade Inmates

No more contact visits for Miami-Dade inmates

The Miami-Dade budget crisis has officially hit inmates where it hurts.

Officials announced Thursday that in a cost-cutting measure, they will no longer allow contact visits for inmates. That includes hugs with your mama or kid and smooches from a spouse or girlfriend.

We expect jailhouse violence to rise 100 percent.

The jail will still allow "under-glass" visits, where visitors can talk to inmates but are separated by a thick layer of bullet-proof glass, but no touchy. The news had to be taken hard by the 7,000 or so inmates in Miami-Dade jails, who are used to being blocked, but not like this.

What about all those hours sexting with pen pals and planning conjugal visits they were so looking forward to?

There may be a few exceptions to the rule, according to the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department, but those contact visits would likely have to do with health-related issues and must be pre-approved.

As far as getting a little TLC, inmates my have to rely on their cell buddies for that.
