Perhaps he just wanted to live with Kurt Russell in a dilapidated house and build a putt-putt golf course.

Coast Guard and cruise authorities haven't said how or why 62-year-old Ron Shulman wound up overboard overnight in the Atlantic, but they do have good news: Shulman was spotted by searchers and has been rescued safely.

Coast Guard Sector Miami received a call about 3 a.m. this morning that Shulman had plunged from the Silversea line's Silver Shadow, a luxury boat on its last leg of a nine-day journey from Barbados and due to dock in Fort Lauderdale. Shortly after he was reported missing, the ship dropped a rescue boat and stalled its journey to remain in the area east of Miami where Shulman was assumed to have gone overboard.

The Coast Guard quickly dispatched a helicopter and rescue vessel that was joined by a Miami-Dade fire boat. About 7:45 a.m., Schulman was spotted 20 miles from Government Cut, clinging to the cruise ship's rescue boat. The helicopter dropped a swimmer to assist, and both were picked up by a rescue vessel.

No word on whether or not anyone requested a revolving shoe closet.
